The Siemens exhibition
Finding out more about the climate change, we started off at Siemens Company in Munich on 1st February 2008. They offered an exhibition on the change of our climate called 'CO2untdown'. The first thing that impressed us in the assembly hall was a large balloon containing 37.8 kg of CO2. This demonstrated the amount of emission of one person per day. During the guided tour we learned more and more about the production of CO2, e.g. from factories and cars, but also about how to reduce CO2. Siemens has produced highly efficient coal-fired power stations and uses sources of renewable energy (like water- and windpower). Additionally, Siemens presented a few innovations for energy saving, for example washing machines. At the end of the tour we were presented a light and laser show which evoked the question if this was an efficient was of saving energy. All in all, it was a very interesting day.
